Dalit Bahandi 2012

Dalit Bahandi
As I watched the show “ Dalit Bahandi” in SM last Sunday, February 26, 2012, it brings us back to our very own Filipino culture particularly in Folk Dances. It reminded me of how rich we are in our culture, not just in traditions, foods, and delicacies but also in the world of entertainment and that includes our Folk Dances, Folk Songs and our own musical instruments. The USC Dance troupe  performed different dances like Tinikling, Sayaw sa Cuyo, Cagayana, Jota de Paragua, Karatong ,Binasuan, Ngilin, Banga, Singkil and many more. Each Dance has its own meaning and background story or history on why it is called in that name. On the other hand, their costumes amazed me too. They were all beautiful and appropriate for each dances like the Bahag, Maria Clara dress, as well as with the other elegant costumes. There was also a live accompaniment by the different musical instruments. The dancers really performed well and in fact they really looked like as professional dancers already. They were really particular with their steps and movements. One of my favourite part was the Finale when all the dancers moved along to the song entitled “ Welcome to Cebu” where a lady holding up an image of Senyor Santo Nino was being praised by fellow performers. Seeing this made me more proud of being a Cebuana and a Filipino.

Countries of the world have their own cultures made more colorful, beautiful and vibrant because of folk dances that are a reflection of who they are and what they are.In our generation today, we are all surrounded with these modern technologies that includes modern dances, songs and even instruments but let us not tend to forget and remember that we also need to take a look back in our folk dances, even to our own Filipino culture. This event makes me realized that we should value our culture. The Filipinos pay tributes and owe itself to cultural heritage. One way of showing such love and respect for the country gave birth to the development of Philippine ethnic folk dances. To conclude, these folk dances whether ethnic in origin or not reflect the lively culture that the Filipinos have. These dances may be diverse but through these cultural forms, the Filipinos are unified and proud by way of having Philippine Folk Dances that are truly one of the bests in the world.

Children's Letter To God

Last February 18, 2011, Our English teacher requires us to watch the stage play entitled "Children's Letter To God" by Little Boy Productions in CICC at around 1 in the afternoon. So after we had our NSTP class in St. Arnold Janssen in Alumnos, we had our lunch at MCDO in Sm then we went to Park mall then in CICC. A lot of people were there.  Upon watching this play, you realized a lot of things more about life even to the smallest questions about life.

Last Saturday night, was aaamazing! worth remembering!HAHA
My first time to parteeyyyy all night til morning! Fun! Fun! Fun!

1st stop: I.T Park

we were touring Tita Etet around I.T park because she is just vacationing here in Phils from U.S.A so we had coffee at Figaro.

2nd stop: Waterfront Hotel and Casino

Since they wanted to listen to take a glimpse and listen to the bands playing in Casino and decided to play just for a couple of minutes. So since we are still below 21 years old we just stayed in front of the entrance of the casino and took this Valentine's greetings. HAHA

3rd stop: Navigator's Gay Bar

Yeah, A gay bar! HAHA since my companions are filled with high energy! They didn't to go home. at first, we were asked to go home first cause we are still too young to be in there but when Tita Libby grab my hand and pull me to go with them since I didn't want to go home yet. Hahays! My 1st time to be in a gay bar but I don't really like it but I just wanna experienced how to be like in there. I think that would be the last time that I would be in a place like that.

4th stop: Mango: Numero Doce and J-ave
I was told to go home by Ate Mae and again Ate Aileen told me to go with them! yeaaah! We were all laughing and shouting because of the craziness of Carla! Party all night since we realized that the sun comes down and it was already Sunday morning.

5th stop: Mergie's Restaurant
Restaurant owned by Bibi, cousin of the Alegado's. we need to drink or eat something since some of my companions are drunk, they were all laughing, shouting and dancing! HAHA.

Then we all went home na coz it is already 7 AM.

We are young, we run free. stay up late, we don't sleep. got our friends and family, got the night. we'll be alright. Thanks to Alegado family feat Carla Ocampo for a fun filled parteeeeyyy last night! mwahuggs!; )

Love Month

IS the "LOVE MONTH" and the "Season of Hearts"!

Being the Heart Girl, I officially opened the season of hearts last February 1 and I have been doing this since I was in grade 6 I think. Because in school they call me Heart Girl coz I so love and like heart, any things or objects as long as it is a heart like stickers, notebooks, mugs, accessories and a whole lot more.

People celebrates Valentine's Day on February 14 so you can really see love birds around, sweet as sugar. HAHA. There are plays, movies about romantic love. Restaurants, clubs, hotels, concerts and etc are also joining the season. Roses and cakes and teddy bears and chocolates are sellable because these are the most common gifts during Valentine's day! Hearing love songs anywhere could add the essence of the Love month and my favorite love song is  The Gift by Jim Brickman!

I heart You! : ) 01

A cute couple shirt we have! because we are SOUL - MATE! : )))
Love! Love! Love!

But of course everyday is a love day! every month is a love month! every second, every minute, every day we can express and show our love to the people we love. Always show, tell them that you love them, it could be your parents, siblings, classmates, friends, teachers, your special someone, everyone that has been a part of your life! :)

Ate Ailene's B-day Bash!

Ate Ailene celebrated her birthday here in Cebu since she was working abroad and she was just here for a vacation. It was nice seeing her again. Her party was filled with fun especially her gay bestfriend who took our breath away because we all did was to laugh and laugh at his silly and green jokes.

I was surprised  to see my teachers from HRSP since the birthday celebrant is also an alumni, so she invited some of her teachers before that were also my teachers. It is great to know that my relatives are also Rosarians.
